Who we are

About Cold Wave Athletics

Established in August 2022, Cold Wave Athletics is a competitive recreational cheer organization dedicated to teaching Level 1 and Level 2 cheerleading with strong fundamentals, safe progressions, and a positive team culture. Led by founder and CEO Jazelle Holland, we train like our mascot—the wolf—moving with purpose, supporting the pack, and empowering athletes to find their voice and strength.

Our practices focus on technique-driven development across tumbling basics, stunting foundations, jumps, motions, and performance quality, preparing athletes for competition and community showcases. We value character, resilience, and sportsmanship as much as skills, creating an environment where developing athletes can set goals, grow with confidence, and celebrate progress together.

At Cold Wave Athletics, every athlete matters, every rep counts, and every howl is a call to lead the pack.

At Cold Wave Athletics Comp Rec Cheer Organization, home of the Wolf, our mission is to build champions on the mat and leaders for life. We unite the strength of the pack with the spirit of the wave—steady, powerful, and always moving forward—to create a safe, inclusive, and high-performing home for athletes of all ages and abilities. Through evidence-based coaching, progressive skill development, and a culture rooted in integrity and respect, we empower every athlete to discover their voice, refine their craft, and embrace the courage to do hard things—together.

We believe competitive and recreational cheer are two strong currents of the same ocean. Recreational cheer welcomes athletes into the sport with joy, fundamentals, and friendship; competitive cheer challenges them to reach for mastery, resilience, and precision. No matter the path, every athlete is coached with the same commitment to safety, character, and excellence. Our staff works to cultivate confidence, creativity, and discipline—helping athletes set goals, stay accountable, and celebrate every milestone along the journey.

As Wolves, we move as one—lifting each other up, honoring the work behind every routine, and showing respect to opponents, officials, and the sport itself. We invest in the whole athlete: body, mind, and heart. That means prioritizing safe progression, positive mental habits, and healthy team dynamics; partnering with families through clear communication; and engaging our broader community through service and spirit. We pursue victory with a cool head and a warm heart, and we measure our success not only by banners and bids, but by the strength of our character when the music stops.

core values

  • Pack First

We are strongest together. The Wolf teaches us that every voice matters, every role is vital, and trust is our competitive edge. We celebrate individual strengths while aligning around a common purpose, knowing that the pack’s success is the truest measure of our own.

  • Character Over Circumstance

Integrity guides every choice—on the mat, at school, online, and in our community. We do the right thing even when it’s hard, own our mistakes, and make them right. Winning is meaningful only when earned with honor.

  • Inclusivity and Belonging

Every athlete deserves to feel seen, safe, and valued. We welcome diverse backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives, and we actively cultivate a culture where all athletes can thrive. Belonging is not by chance; it’s by design.

  • Community and Service

We use our platform to lift others. Through service projects, school spirit, and local partnerships, we strive to be good neighbors and positive role models. Giving back strengthens our pack and our community.

  • Communication and Respect

We listen actively, speak honestly, and assume positive intent. Coaches, athletes, and families are partners; we resolve concerns directly and constructively. Respect for teammates, competitors, and officials is a daily expectation.

  • Academic and Life Readiness

We champion classroom success and life skills—time management, goal setting, leadership, and teamwork. We help athletes translate lessons from the mat to school, work, and community.
