    JAZELLE HOLLAND

    FOUNDER/ OWNER

    Jazelle founded Cold Wave Athletics in 2022 with one mission: to create a positive and inclusive environment where athletes of lower levels can thrive. Her leadership, vision, and love for the sport have shaped Cold Wave into one of the fastest-growing cheer programs in the DMV. As Founder, Jazelle focuses on athlete development, program growth, and empowering the next generation of leaders in cheer.

    PROGRAM ADMIN

    As the Program Administrator at Cold Wave Athletics, Coach Nette keeps the entire program running smoothly — from registrations and billing to communication and event coordination. With strong organization skills and a passion for youth sports, she ensures that families and athletes always have the information and support they need.

    With years of coaching experience and a strong background in cheer technique and safety, Coach Chrissy ensures every Cold Wave athlete performs with confidence and precision. Known for their motivational coaching style, she brings structure, energy, and fun to every practice.

    As an Assistant Coach at Cold Wave Athletics, Coach Nads, brings passion, patience, and precision to every practice. With a background in cheerleading/ track and field /dance — , she focuses on helping athletes master technique, build confidence, and push past their limits — all while keeping practices positive and high-energy.

At Cold Wave Athletics, we’re more than a cheer program — we’re a family built on teamwork, growth, and passion for the sport.
We’re looking for dedicated, energetic, and skilled individuals to join our coaching and administrative staff as we continue to grow our program and prepare for another exciting season.

Position Overview:
The Head Coach leads our competitive and recreational teams, oversees training sessions, and helps shape the direction of our program.
Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and leading practices focused on skill progression, safety, and performance.

  • Mentoring assistant and junior coaches.

  • Supporting athletes in achieving personal and team goals.
    Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience as a head coach or advanced-level coach in all-star, school, or college cheer.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certification preferred.

Position Overview:
Assistant Coaches bring energy, creativity, and technical knowledge to every practice. They work closely with the Head Coach to help athletes develop strong fundamentals and team spirit.
Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting team training and individual skill development.

  • Assisting with choreography, stunts, and tumbling.

  • Providing positive reinforcement and building athlete confidence.
    Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience coaching or cheering competitively.

  • Great communication skills and a team-first mindset.

  • Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed for practices and events.

Position Overview:
The Program Administrator keeps the heart of Cold Wave Athletics running smoothly. This role manages communication, registration, scheduling, and parent coordination to ensure our families have a seamless experience.
Responsibilities include:

  • Handling registration, billing, and team communications.

  • Coordinating events, apparel orders, and scheduling.

  • Supporting staff and families with day-to-day inquiries.
    Ideal Candidate:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Comfortable with administrative software and managing deadlines.

Position Overview:
Junior Coaches are current or former Cold Wave athletes who are ready to lead! They assist with youth classes, tumbling sessions, and team practices while learning valuable leadership and coaching skills.
Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting coaches during practices and camps.

  • Helping younger athletes learn basic cheer skills safely.

  • Modeling good sportsmanship and teamwork.
    Ideal Candidate:

  • A motivated, positive role model with great attendance and attitude.

  • Ages 13+ preferred, must be enrolled or alumni of Cold Wave Athletics.
