At Cold Wave Athletics, tumbling is where confidence takes flight!
Our progressive tumbling program — is designed for athletes ages 3–18, focusing on safe skill development, proper technique, and individual progress through Levels 1–3 of the United Scoring System.

Our certified coaches follow level-appropriate skill progressions to ensure each athlete builds the strength, flexibility, and control needed to advance safely and successfully.

At Cold Wave Athletics, tumbling is more than just flips and tricks — it’s where athletes learn strength, confidence, and control that lasts a lifetime. Our tumbling program, gives athletes a place to grow at their own pace in a positive, high-energy environment.

Whether your athlete is stepping onto the mat for the first time or mastering connected tumbling passes, our certified coaching staff provides personalized instruction, skill-based progression, and motivation every step of the way.

Our tumbling curriculum follows the United Scoring System (Levels 1–3), ensuring athletes train safely, build proper foundations, and advance with confidence — from their first forward roll to advanced combination passes.

Tumbling Program Levels

Level 1

Fundamentals & Foundations:

For beginners learning body awareness and control
Athletes master the basics of tumbling through focused instruction on technique and confidence.

Level 2

Power & Progression:

For athletes advancing beyond the basics
This level introduces power tumbling, connecting skills, and dynamic transitions while maintaining correct form.

Level 3

Strength & Execution:

For intermediate to advanced athletes ready to take flight
At this stage, athletes refine their technique, build endurance, and work advanced combinations while emphasizing strength and safety.

    Goal: Build a strong foundation for all future tumbling and cheer skills.

    • Round-off back handspring combinations

    • Standing back handsprings and step-outs

    • Conditioning for power and controlled landings

    Goal: Develop connection passes and safe progression into advanced tumbling.

  • Skills Introduced:

    • Series back handsprings

    • Round-off back handspring series

    • Front handsprings and punch fronts

    • Aerial and tuck progressions

    • Jump-to-tumble connections

    Goal: Strength, speed, and confidence — preparing athletes for elite cheer tumbling.
